Lucila A. Dada, age 101, of New Haven passed away peacefully on September 25, 2021. Born in the Philippines on June 14, 1920, a daughter to the late Pantaleon and Emeteria Pasion Agag. She was the loving mother to Buenaventura "Bennie" (Patrocinio) Domingo, and grandmother to Madeleine (Bob) O'Neill, and Jannette (Ed) Leighton, and beloved great-grandmother to Robert and Thomas O'Neill. In addition to her parents, Lucila was predeceased by her husband and five siblings.
Lucila was a caring, thoughtful, kindhearted person who would put others first. She believed helping others was a gift and a virtue. Lucila prided herself on taking care of her granddaughters and assisted in their upbringing. This attribute carried over into her affection for her great grandchildren, Robert and Thomas. Lucila was a devoted Catholic and believed the Lord guided her. This is not to say she wouldn't speak her piece and kindly put someone in their place. Lucila was strong willed, an attribute that was passed onto her daughter and granddaughters.
Lucila enjoyed gardening and enjoyed the accompaniment of her beloved dogs Jake and Mikee. She will always be remembered as loving and caring Mother and Grandmother that had the sweetest smile that lit up the room.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 3 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, at West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 4 at 10:30 AM in St. Agnes Church, Woodmont. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
