Lucille Schutte, 95, passed away on December 1, 2024, and Robert "Bob" Schutte, 84, passed away on August 31, 2015. A celebration of life will be held on June 28, 2025, at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in
Chariton, Iowa, from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. A private family interment will take place following the celebration of life. Bob and Lucille will be interred with their son, Frederick Schutte, who also passed away.

Lucille was born on July 9, 1929, in Fairmont, Martin County Minnesota to Joy and Cecil Shoen. She grew up in Truman, Minnesota then later graduated from Truman High School in Truman Minnesota and went on to complete a Bachelor of Science at Mankato State University. She worked as a teacher in Wells Minnesota and Chariton Iowa schools, where she taught for 29 years as a Home Economics teacher. She was actively involved in dress making, quilting, beading, reading and traveling. In retirement she enjoyed traveling the United States with Bob. Lucille and Bob moved to Palm Springs, California in 2001 where they were very active with the Palm Springs Shriners Club. Helping with fund raising and transporting children to the Los Angeles Shriners Children's Hospital.
Bob was born on December 20, 1930, in San Antonio, Texas to Myrtle and Myron Schutte. They later moved to Wells, Minnesota where he grew up, started his lifetime career in the Hardware business and met his future wife, Lucille. They were married in March of 1958, and started their family. They later moved to
Chariton, Iowa, opening Schutte's Hardware Store. They lived in Chariton until moving to the desert area of California in 2001. They enjoyed gourmet cooking together and traveling throughout the country visiting family and friends.
Bob is a Korean War veteran, serving as a Senior Airplane Mechanic for the US Air Force. He was an active and dedicated member of the Masons and a Shriner in Minnesota, Iowa and Southern California. He was dedicated to providing transportation to Shriner Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, from Coachella Valley.
Bob and Lucille will be deeply missed by their daughters; Stephanie (Schutte) and Bill Kohl and Jennifer (Schutte) and Steve Lewandowski; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and six great grandchildren; Bob's Siblings, Mary Nowak of Elkhart, Indiana and Tom Schutte of Maple Lake, Minnesota; Lucille's sister, Catherine (Shoen) Chamberlain of Fairmont, Minnesota and many friends and relatives.
