Mom was born Lucille Elsie Schultz to Otto J Schultz and Elsie Rohrschneider on June 20, 1941, in Beaver Dam. She grew up on the family farm on Horseshoe Road, south of Horicon and attended the one room school, Rock River School, on St Helena Road. Mom started taking accordion lessons in Hustisford when she was about 7 years old. Mom graduated from Horicon High School in 1959 and Dodge County Teacher's College in 1961. For the next few years, Mom taught in the Town of Brookfield and Neosho Wisconsin. She was a substitute teacher for several schools.
Mom married William H. Braunschweig on December 14, 1963, at St. Stephens Church Horicon.
Mom was involved in several organizations and causes. She was the first woman to be elected to the Dodge County Board of Supervisors.
