Lucille "Lu" Smith Caldwell, of Lebanon Jct., KY, at the age of 77 departed this life on Friday, August 8, 2025. She was born on Thursday, May 13, 1948, in Stinnett, KY to the late Roy and Rose (Collett) Smith.

Lu was a member of the Calvary Holiness Church in Brooks, KY. She was a hard worker and retired from the Canteen Corp. as manager of one of their food service locations inside GE Appliance Park in Louisville, KY.

In addition to her parents, Lu is preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Collett and Hilda Brock, two brothers, Wayne Smith and Orphas Smith, and nephew Glen Wallace.

Lu is survived by her sister Erma and (Larry) Hacker of Stinnett, KY, and her brother, Roy and (Sandy) Smith of Macon, GA, along with a host of nieces, nephews and several very special Simpson cousins in Lebanon Junction, KY.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 3 pm until 8 pm at Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 South Buckman Street in Shepherdsville, KY.

Additional visitation and funeral services will take place at Stinnett Pentecostal Church, 2490 State Hwy 406, Stinnett, KY on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 6 pm. Funeral services will take place at Stinnett Pentecostal Church on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor James Bowling, Jr. and Wayne Baker officiating with burial to follow in the Smith Family Cemetery.
