Mrs. Lucille Porter Moss, age 98, widow of Charles Moss, went to be with the Lord, Monday, December 23, 2024.
Mrs. Moss was born January 6,1926 in Del Rio, TN, the daughter of the late William Larkin Porter and Lula Self Porter. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from the textile industry after working with Excelsior and Cone Mills. Mrs. Moss was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church, where she was the last surviving member of the original Jim Smith Sunday School Class. Her family was her life as she always considered their needs before her own. She loved to cook for her family, friends and neighbors. She was a very special christian Mom, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.
Surviving are a daughter, Janet Lawson of Union, a grandson, Zachary Arthur and his wife Leigh Anne and great grandchildren, Ross D. Arthur and Issac T. Arthur. She is also survived by a nephew, Michael Porter and his wife Debra. Mrs. Moss was predeceased by daughters, Dianne Lewis and Rene "Bussie" Arthur, sisters, Essie Porter, Marion P. Ivey, brother, William L. "Boots" Porter, Jr. and son-in-law, James "Jimmy" Lawson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Tom Tucker and Mr. Michael Porter.
Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Ross Arthur, Issac Arthur, Zachary Arthur, Rick Arthur and Randy Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the Church.
The family would like to thank Rick and Jane Arthur and Bill and Carol Beheler.
Memorials may be made to Mon Aetna Baptist Church, 1431 Lockhart Hwy.,Union, SC 29379.
The family is at the home of Zachary and Leigh Anne Arthur, 1722 Santuc-Carlisle Hwy, Union, SC
