Lucille Edith Ohsowski age 92, of Taylor, was called home to be with the Lord and reunited with her beloved husband on November 18, 2025.
Lucille was born on August 31, 1933, to William and Agnes (Kaier) Maas in Detroit, Michigan. She was married in 1959 to Donald Ohsowski, who preceded her in death. They spent 63 years together prior to his passing.
Lucille was a rather quiet and reserved person. She spent much of her life as a dedicated homemaker and mom, who loved and was committed to her family. Passionate about cooking and baking, she spent a lot of quality time in the kitchen and was known for her famous apple pie. She was also known for her shopping! Lucille loved to shop. As a parishioner of Trinity-St. Mark's United Church of Christ in Detroit, she enjoyed working as a volunteer especially for their rummage sales.
She is survived by her daughters, Crystal (Roy) Johnson and LuAnn (James) Swain; her grandchildren, Nathan (Gray) Johnson, Donald (Candy) Johnson, Christopher (Dawn) Johnson, James (Tiarra) Swain, Micah (Jennifer) Swain, Wesley (LoriAnn) Swain; as well as 15 great-grandchildren, and 5+ great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Edith Baustert (Ed). She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Lawrence Maas, and Marion Smith.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Kernan Funeral Services, 1020 Fort Street, Lincoln Park, Michigan. On Monday, November 24, 2025 she will be instate at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 24158 Goddard Rd.,Taylor, Michigan at 9:30 am, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am. After the service Lucille's burial will take place at Woodmere Cemetery, 9400 W. Fort Street, Detroit, at 11:30 am.
Heaven has gained a cherished soul. We take comfort in knowing Lucille has entered into eternal rest, reunited with loved ones who welcome her into Heaven. As scripture reminds us "Well done, good and faithful servant...enter in the joy of the Lord," (Matthew 25:23) She will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
Please share a memory of Lucille by signing her Tribute Wall.
