Lucille M. Robert

DUXBURY – Lucille Marie (Lalancette) Robert, age 97, of Duxbury, MA (formerly of North Attleboro, MA) passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 after a period of declining health at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, MA surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Rene Norman Robert who passed away on January 1, 2007.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on September 5, 1927. Lucille was the loving daughter of the late Bruno and Alma (Riendeau) Lalancette. She grew up on Taylor Street in N Attleboro with her late brother, Gerard, and her sister Leonie (Lalancette) Coyle.
She met the love of her life at a dance in Rhode Island. They did not start dating right away but met up again a year or two later. They wed on July 14, 1951 and were married for 56 years.
Lucille was a devoted and loving mother of Denise T. Gamache, and her husband Dennis, of Scottsdale, AZ and West Harwich, MA and Michelle "Shelly" R. Horvath, and her husband Lou of Pembroke, MA. Devoted Grandmother of Amy and Chris Gamache and Zack and Mikayla Horvath. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Lucille worked as a security officer at the L.G. Balfour Co in Attleboro, MA. They worked making jewelry and championship rings where she got to meet Red Aurbach. She also briefly worked as a dispatcher for the North Attleboro Police Department. Lastly, Lucille and her husband, Rene, were co-owners of the Gorham Motor Inn in Gorham, NH and resided there for 9 years. They also resided in Hyannis, MA for 9 years.
Lucille was a very creative and talented woman. She was an extraordinary seamstress and worked at Dowes and Thelma's in North Attleboro, which she loved. She was also a master cake maker and created many themed birthday cakes for her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family over the years. Lucille also did a fabulous job decorating Sacred Heart Church in North Attleboro for the 50 th Anniversary Celebration.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are most warmly invited to attend, will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 10:00 AM from the Sperry-McHoul-Pichi Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated in her honor by the Reverend David A. Costa at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish), 58 Church Street, North Attleboro. Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Towne Street, Attleboro Falls. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
