Lucille Sabbagh Obituary

Lucille "Lucy" Sabbagh passed away on June 7, 2025, at the age of 93.
She was born on June 12, 1931, in Gainesville, Georgia to Ansel and Mary McEver (nee Mitchell).
Lucy grew up during the great depression and learned early on that family was the most important thing in life. She earned her degree in nursing, and while working as a registered nurse at Crawford Long Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Lucy met the love of her life, Enrique Sabbagh. The couple married, relocated to Detroit, Michigan, and then soon settled in Franklin, Michigan. After starting their family, Lucy stayed home to raise her beloved children. Lucy was a longtime member of Franklin Community Church for over 60 years and especially enjoyed her gardening club.
Lucy was the heart, matriarch, and glue of her large and multi-cultural family. With relatives spanning two continents, Lucy knew the importance of staying in touch and feeling connected, even when separated by physical distance. She valued celebrating different customs and masterfully balanced traditions. Lucy was respected, admired, and kept everyone together with her love.
Beloved wife of Enrique for 67 years.
Loving mother of David (Linda), Bill (Margaret), and Lynn.
Devoted grandmother of Olivia, Scott, and Bridget.
Dear aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 11, from 4-8PM with Sharing of Memories at 7PM at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers, Connell) 32515 Woodward Ave. Royal Oak (248)549-0500.
Funeral service will be held on her birthday, Thursday, June 12, at 11AM at Franklin Community Church 26425 Wellington Rd. Franklin.
Final resting place Franklin Cemetery.
