Lucille Luecke Stryker "Lue" 92 of Sarasota Florida, formerly of St. Louis, Missouri passed away peacefully on March 15, 2022. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dr. William I Stryker.
Lue was better known by her grandchildren as GOGO, DODO or most recently Tootles. She is survived by her three daughters, Ann Busch of St. Louis, Peggy Horne of Atlanta, Bizzie O'Leary of Warrenton, MO., five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Lue was a long-time resident of The Oaks and spent much of her time volunteering for several organizations including Spanish Point and Selby Gardens. She was an avid gardener and member of the Founder's Garden Club of Sarasota. She enjoyed working in her garden as well as planning events for others.
In recent years she spent countless hours with her grandson Trey who took care of her every need.
Lue enjoyed the sunshine, eating out and making sure everything was "just so". She was blessed with a long active life.
There will be a memorial at St Thomas Moore Catholic Church at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Lue's honor to Selby Gardens, 1534 Mound Street, Sarasota, FL 34236 or Spanish Point, 337 North Tamiami Trail, Osprey, FL 34229.
