Lucille H. Wilburn, born in Robstown, Texas, transitioned peacefully into the arms of her heavenly father on August 1, 2025, at the age of 91. Surrounded by the love of family and friends, Lucille left behind a legacy of compassion and warmth that touched the lives of many.
A devoted wife, cherished mother, beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and best friend, Lucille was known for her profound love for her family. For 62 wonderful years, she was married to her late husband, Fred A. Wilburn, Sr., with whom she shared countless memories and moments of joy. Together, they fostered a nurturing home in Corpus Christi, where they raised their four children, Daisy Humada, Rebecca Trevino, Richard Wilburn, and Fred Wilburn, Jr. (Minnie Wilburn).
Lucille's passion for life was evident in her love for cooking, gardening, and farming at the Ranch alongside her husband Fred. She found joy in spending time outdoors and cultivated the same love for nature in her family. Additionally, singing with her sisters was one of her cherished pastimes, which formed the foundation of many beautiful memories.
Throughout her life, Lucille was known not only for her caring nature but also for her strength and resilience. She relished every moment spent with her loved ones and was a source of comfort and support to those who knew her. Lucille’s heart was immense, characterized by her kindness, love, and unwavering dedication to praying for everyone who crossed her path.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, Benito Hernandez and Rafaela F. Hernandez, as well as her brothers, Ruben Hernandez and Robert Hernandez. She is survived by her brother, Rey Hernandez (Margie), and her beloved sisters, Lena Flowers, Aurora Canales, Ninfa Lopez (Celso), Delma Ramos, and Corina Martinez (Joe). In addition, she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will carry forward her spirit of love and kindness.
Lucille also cherished her role as a grandmother to her grandchildren, Richard Wilburn, Jr., Audrey Allington, Veronica De-Buono, Melissa Wilburn, Kenneth Trevino, Brandon Trevino, Tyler Wilburn, Megan Mobley, Caitlin McDaniel, and Alyssa Lopez. Her legacy continues through her twenty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, who will remember her as the heart of their family.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Tribute Hospice in Corpus Christi, Texas, and Harbor Hospice in Portland, Texas, who provided loving care for Lucille during her final days. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate to have known her.
