Lucinda "Cindy" Brown Maples, 81, of Albany, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by her three loving and devoted children - MeLisa, Milton, and Tawanda.

Born in Albany to the late Hope Brown and Lucinda Jones Brown, she was later adopted by Oscar and Eliza Maples of Camilla, Georgia. After Mrs. Eliza Maples' passing, she was lovingly cared for by Oscar's second wife, Narcisis James Maples, who continued to show her kindness, love, and devotion.

Lucinda attended Monroe Comprehensive High School in Albany and later worked for the Dougherty County Public School System as a school crossing guard in her latter years before retiring in 2013. She loved being a part of the community - greeting children, parents, and neighbors each day brought her pure joy. She deeply loved her family, cooking, going out to eat, and especially cherished the thoughtful care packages sent to her by her great nephew, John Reed, after she moved to Tucson, Arizona.

Lucinda was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and dedicated her life to her service and ministry, being baptized on April 4, 1981. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She found joy in sharing Bible truths with others and cherished attending meetings, assemblies, and conventions. Lucinda built lifelong friendships within the congregation and was known for her gentle spirit, hospitality, sense of humor, and unwavering trust in Jehovah's promises of a resurrection. She will be deeply missed by the congregations in Albany, Georgia, and Tucson, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by several siblings and is survived by her loving sister, Lucille Fields, age 93, of Atlanta, Georgia.

Also left to cherish her memory are her children - MeLisa Turner (Lando) of Oro Valley, Arizona; Milton Maples (Lisa) of San Diego, California; and Tawanda Maples of Rochester, Minnesota; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
