Lucretia Abruzzo Obituary

Lucretia Abruzzo, 94, passed away peacefully in Oak Park IL, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Bari, Italy, to Dominic and Mary (Bozzi) Colorato, she immigrated to Chicago at 5-years old. At 19, she found a dance partner in Joseph Abruzzo, and they married on August 6, 1950. They had four children and were together for 65 years before he passed away in 2015.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, sister Anna Campobasso and brother Sabino "Sam" Colorato. Her love of family and her Italian traditions will live on in her surviving family. She will be missed by her children Joanne (Jim) Rossman, Marian (Dave) Pogorski, Steve (Valerie) Abruzzo and Donna (Jim) Pape. Known lovingly as "Nonnie" by her grandchildren, she is survived by Michael (Rita) Rossman, Stacey (Kevin) Pacini, Brittany (Dave) Herrera, Michelle Abruzzo, Christopher Pogorski, David Pogorski, Gianna (Matt) Milroy, Danielle (Mike) Miceli, Dana Pape and Joe Pape. She was adored by her great-grandchildren Madeline, Connor, Santino, Giovanni, Juliana and Griffin. She was beloved by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, August 24, 2024 at St. Vincent Ferrer Church. 1530 Jackson Ave., River Forest, IL. From 9:00 A.M. till time of Mass 10:00 A.M. Entombment will be private at All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers contributions to Lurie Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated. For info 773-625-7751
