Lucy Gentry Taylor Easley passed away peacefully at home Saturday November 29, 2025. Lucy was born in
Frankfort, KY on November 12, 1927 to Catherine Lannon and Dan W. Taylor.
She married Kenneth Jackson Easley on January 26, 1949
Lucy was preceded in death by Kenneth, her parents, her son-in-law James Mackey, her daughter-in-law Pamela Konermann Easley, and her siblings; Joseph Lannon Taylor, John Frank Taylor, James Edward (Ned) Taylor, William Robert Taylor, Bernardine (Pippy) Stahl, Mary Dan Tinsley, Margaret Ratliff, and Edith Ann Taylor.
She was a graduate of Good Shephard High School,
Frankfort, KY and the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy class of 1950. Lucy worked as a pharmacist for Frankfort Drug, Klink Drug-Lawrenceburg, and Smith-McKinney-Shelbyville prior to opening the Prescription Shop with Kenneth in 1960. After closing the drug store in 1985 she took a year off before being asked to cover maternity leave for a pharmacist at King's Daughters Hospital-Shelbyville where she continued to work for 25 years.
Lucy was a member of the Church of the Annunciation where she served on the parish council, anointed the sick, RCIA and was involved with the St. Ann Altar Society.
She was a member of the National Association of Retail Druggists (NARD), the Kentucky Pharmacists Association, and the Jefferson County Academy of Pharmacy.
She and Kenneth were honored as NARD Pharmacy Family of the Year-1967. Lucy served on the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy, 1990-1993, and she received the Pharmacy Bowl of Hygeia Award-1998 for her community service. Lucy was involved in bringing Hospice services to Shelbyville. Lucy was a member of the Isaac Shelby chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution
She is survived by her and Kenneth's ten children: Lucy Ann Mackey, K. Jack Easley (Sydney), Albert G. Easley (Joann), R. Paul Easley (Kathy), Joseph G. Easley, David P. Easley (Dr. David Seligson), T. Lannon Easley, Lena C. Lundgren (Carl), Mary Dan Easley, and William T. Easley; her 18 grandchildren: Amanda Hettinger, Craig Mackey, Danny Easley, Gentry Easley, Jeremiah Easley, Jamie Easley, Leslie Mylin, Addie Easley, Taylor Easley, Logan Easley, Holden Easley, Lucy K. Easley, Ben Easley, Paige Kapp, Katie Shirley, Erika Lundgren, William Easley, and Julia Easley; and 33 great-grandchildren: Patrick Hettinger, Liam Mackey, David Mackey, Paul Mackey, Helen Easley, Jackson Easley, Adam Easley, Searcy Lotz, Lannon Lotz, Brophy Easley, Breckin Easley, Trice Easley, Parker Easley, Connor Easley, Tanner Easley, Caitlin Mylin, Kylie Mylin, Jevin Easley, Liza Easley, Astrid Easley, Megan Fritzinger, Bridgett Fritzinger, Zoe Fritzinger, Grace Easley, Everett Cox, Zora Easley, Myla Easley, Cecillia Kapp, Harrison Kapp, Harper Kapp, Audrey Shirley, Gunner Shirley, and Ellodie Lundgren.
The family wishes to thank Helen Clark, Melissa Turner, Linda Crenshaw, Sherry Hagler, Doris Yates, Lesa Moore, Jillian Cabkner, Vanessa Gonzalez, Rosa Gonzalez, Sue Spaulding, Theresa Rogers, Lucille Lewis and Hospice of Louisville for their loving care and support.
Visitation will be 2-7pm Tuesday, December 9th at Shannon Funeral Home with a funeral mass on Wednesday, December 10th, at 10am at Church of the Annunciation, with internment at the Frankfort Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Easter Seals, Alzheimer's Research, and Hospice of Louisville.
