Lucy Eddins Obituary

A lifelong Frankfort resident, Lucy was born to Joe and Alice Swope Terry on February 5, 1943. She graduated from Frankfort High School and the University of Kentucky, and went on to teach at FHS and later work as a retirement counselor at Kentucky Teachers' Retirement System. She was a member of Bridgeport Christian church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, horses, flowers and gardening, and card games and puzzles.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband William "Bill Eddins", and her son Ronnie Eddins.
She is survived by her daughters Cindy Cook and Karen Averill, son Terry Eddins, sister Linda Dixon, three grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
A service in celebration of Lucy's life will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 12:00 pm Wednesday, March 19th, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the Frankfort Cemetery. The Rev Ann Shepherd will officiate the services.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Averill, Terry Eddins, Collin Averill, Stephen Dixon, Richard Dixon, and Jim Terry.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Bridgeport Christian Church.

There are so many wonderful memories of riding and caring for horses, long walks and horseback rides on the beautiful farm, vacations and trips to Linda´s house. The delicious meals and games with Lucy, Bill, Dee and Joel will be with Pete and I always. Thank you Lucy for everything, you are missed and loved. Heaven received a dear special lady on March 16th.

Thinking of my cousin Lucy´s sweet smile and love for her family. She and Billy created many memories by hosting family dinners at her home. It was a blessing to worship with her later at Bridgeport.

Not a sweeter person than Lucy Jo. I graduated from FHS with Bill so was around Lucy a lot. I am saddened to learn of her passing but know she is in a happy place with our Savior. Love, thoughts and prayers.
