Emily Rae Goin Quarles passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Bill Kincaid officiating. Burial will follow at Frankfort Cemetery. Emily was born on October 2, 1948, in Frankfort, Kentucky to the late David Jr. and Evelyn Powers Goin. She was the granddaughter of the late David Sr. and Jodie Watts Goin and the late Thurman and Rae Hershberg Powers.
She was a 1966, graduate of Frankfort High School and attended Kentucky State University.
On July 13, 1968, she married Ralph Quarles, Jr. and even though their marriage ended, together as lifelong friends they raised their only child, Beth Jane.
Emily never met a stranger a day in her life and always knew at least one person whether it was in her beloved Pic Pac or Frisch's. Even on vacations she would run into people she had met throughout her life.
She was caring, genuine, loving and above all a friend and kind to all.
Her greatest accomplishments were her grandchildren whom she helped raise, loved and selflessly cared for daily.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Quarles Tincher (Bryan Wade). She was known as Nana by her grandchildren, Dylan Scott Tincher and Macey Layne Tincher (Jon-Michael Stallard) and her precious great-grandson, Genesis Matthew Tincher; her brothers, David Goin III, and Daniel Goin (Cathy) and sister, Elizabeth Goin Waggoner (Jay), and by many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins as well as close family friends, Larry Adams and Rita Hardin.
Pallbearers are Dan Lamb, Jon-Michael Stallard, Michael Hardin, Phillip Elliston, Rob Woodside, and Taylor Woodside.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Kidney Foundation, the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill, and the PML Foundation.
