Lucy Pittman Obituary

Lucy Evelyn Webster Pittman, a beloved resident of Pinetown, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 10,2025, at the age of 96. Born on December 20, 1928, in Robbins, North Carolina, Evelyn lived a full and vibrant life marked by laughter, love, and devotion.

Evelyn was cherished by all who knew her. Her infectious smile -always brightened by her signature pink lipstick-and her laughter could light up any room. She affectionately called everyone she met "Shug," a reflection of her boundless warmth and kindness. Her deep love for the Lord and her community was evident in her dedicated 75-year membership at Free Union Free Will Baptist Church. She treasured her sisters, sisters-in-law, and anyone in need of a friend.

A true caregiver at heart, Evelyn lovingly devoted 25 years to caring for her mother-in-law, a testament to her generous spirit. She also delighted in life's simple pleasures-her favorite breakfast of two eggs over easy, bacon, a cheese biscuit, and grits brought her daily joy. Above all, Evelyn found immense happiness in time spent with her family, who were her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 55 years, Carl Webster; her second husband of 9 years, Rex Pittman; her son, Tony R. Webster Sr., and his wife Jane Jackson Webster; her siblings Floyd "Bee" Sanders and Elmer "Bug" Sanders; and her great-grandchild, Nicolas Deluna.

Evelyn leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her children, Dale Webster Quidley (Mike) and

Sheila Webster Alligood (Buddy). Her grandchildren include Tony R. Webster Jr. (Wendy), Tonja Q. Rose (Ward), Jane W. Deluna (Chayo), Trey Alligood, Chad Alligood (Joy), Michael Quidley Jr. (Nikki), Heather Q. Sawyer (Bryan), Natalie W. Cahoon (Lewis), and Toni Jo W. Carrow (Aaron). She is also survived by great-grandchildren Myah Webster, Chuck Rose, Jonathan Lewis, Katlyn Winfield, Asher Alligood, Lucy Alligood, Ella Grace Alligood, Tres' Quidley, Sophia Quidley, Elle Quidley, Micah Quidley, Gavin Sawyer, Saylor Sawyer, Landon Cahoon, Olivia Jane Cahoon, Haley Welch, Callie W. Clement, and Chloe Windley, as well as great-great-grandchildren Grayson Quidley, Ella Rose Lewis, Noah Lewis, Jonah Lewis, and Luca Lewis. Her legacy of love will continue through each generation who adored her.

Evelyn is also survived by her siblings Flossie Nall and Pauline Everette; her former daughter-in-law, Edna G. Ash; Tony's surviving wife, Cathy W. Webster; and her stepdaughter, Cathy Pittman. She was blessed with many dear friends, Mr. Leroy Waters, Joyce and Delbert Lefferman, Wendy Alligood, and Andy and Karen Fisher, and Mr. Jim Carpenter who passed away earlier this year. All of whom loved her as deeply as she loved them.

The family invites relatives and friends to join them in celebrating Evelyn's life. Visitation will be held on Saturday,

September 13, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Joseph B. Paul Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow on Sunday, September 14, at 3:00 p.m. at Free Union Free Will Baptist Church. Lucy Evelyn Webster Pittman will be remembered fondly and lovingly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and her signature touch of pink lipstick will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. In her honor, the family requests that attendees wear a touch of pink to the funeral in celebration of Evelyn's life.

Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service is honored to assist the Pittman family.
