We are sad to announce the passing of Lucy Mae Toney of 6802 Eden Grove Drive, Converse Texas. She was born on 19 July 1951 in Maxeys, Gorgia. Lucy passed away on Tuesday, the 13th of February, 2024 at St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital. Born Lucy Mae Brightwell, her parents were Daniel C. Brightwell and Mary A. Brightwell-Roberts. Raised primarily in Springfield, Massachusetts, Lucy graduated from Trade High School in 1970. She then went on to meet her husband Renaldo Toney who was in the United States Air Force, they married in 1976. After being stationed overseas for years, Lucy and her husband returned to the states, and settled in Tucson Arizona were then had her miracle baby Celeste Janine Toney. She moved to Converse, Texas where she worked at St. Monica’s Catholic School, Lucy operated a daycare out of her home which she was passionate about. Lucy loved to pray and those who knew her, would request for her to pray with them.
She is survived by her loving husband and daughter, Renaldo Toney and Celeste Janine Toney, her older brother Daniel Charles Brightwell Jr., her younger sister Kitty Brightwell and baby brother Michael Brightwell.
Her service will be held on the 20th of February 2024, at Schertz Funeral Home at 10am.
She will be greatly missed and will be forever in our hearts.
