Luda Whitehead

Luda Lee Whitehead, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. She was a woman of quiet strength and unwavering faith, in the Church of Christ and guided throughout her life by a deep, personal relationship with God.
Though she rarely spoke of her beliefs, her life reflected a spirit that was gentle, kind, and loving. She cherished her role as a housewife and mother, pouring care and devotion into her home and family. Her marriage to her beloved husband of 70 years was filled with laughter, shared faith, and a lifetime of adventures together.
Together, they raised two children and built a legacy that includes four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her warmth and wisdom. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life fishing on quiet mornings, painting with a creative soul, and traveling hand-in-hand with her husband, exploring the world with wonder and gratitude.
She is survived by her daughter, Diana Ledl and her husband Joe; four grandchildren, Jon Whitehead, Donald Whitehead, Casey Ledl, and Jami Cockrell; six great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Terry Fearing; nieces Lindsay Fearing, Suzanne Scott and her husband Jay, and Janice Hensley; nephews Cody Fearing, Chad Fearing, and Dustin Fearing; and her beloved Aunt, Vatricia Sprouse, who is 101 years old.
She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Tech Sergeant Harry Don Whitehead; her son, Colonel Don Whitehead; her brothers, William John Fearing, Vern Fearing, Ted Jr. Fearing; her sister, Leona Sue Young; and her nieces, Linda Gossett embraced in eternal peace and love.
Her life was a testament to love, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 16, 2025 at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 17, 2025 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
