Luetta Mae (Holthaus) Clute, 101, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home. She was born on April 8, 1924, near Colesburg, the daughter of Elmer and Lillian "Fern" (Dodge) Holthaus. Luetta was raised and educated in the area and was a 1942 graduate of Colesburg High School.
Luetta was united in marriage to Roger Clute in 1943. Ten children were born to this union, Ronald, Roxanna, Carol, Kelly, Charles, Jerry, John, Mary, Patricia, and Russell. Luetta survived many things during her lifetime, including three separate bouts of cancer, and raising her ten children!
Luetta was a strong advocate for her son, Russell, and served on the board of Arc Chapter in Manchester. She enjoyed accompanying Ron and Diane on trips to Germany, Mexico, Greece, and other places. Luetta loved cooking and collecting recipes with her sister, Bev. She enjoyed tending her flowers and watching birds. Luetta was a very social person and loved visiting with her many relatives and friends.
Survivors include eight children, Roxanna Watters of Alpharetta, Georgia, Carol (John) Begley of Marion, Kelly Clute of Center Point, Charles Clute of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jerry (Kari) Clute of Homosassa, Florida, John (Debra) Clute of Ames, Mary (Tom) Heller of Alto, Michigan, and Patricia Clute of Manchester; daughter-in-law, Diane Clute of Aurora, Colorado; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Judy) Holthaus of Burlington; sister-in-law, Cheryl Holthaus of Spokane, Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
Luetta was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Ronald and Russell Clute; two brothers, Arnold (Donna) Holthaus and Roger Holthaus; and her sister, Beverly (Ernest) Bradley.
The family would like to wholeheartedly thank all of Luetta's caregivers at the Edgewood Convalescent Home for their support and compassionate care during her stay there.
