Luigia "Gina" LaSorsa
With heavy hearts, and with both Sadness and Joy.....
We announce the passing of Luigia, whom everyone knew as "Gina", the loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Mother-in-law and friend to all, whose lives she touched.
On, July 17, 2025, Gina left us, after being stricken with congestive heart failure. She was 95 years old.
Born in Montescaglioso, Italy on June 3, 1930, to Giuseppe Castano and Cornelia Rosetti.
Immediately following World War II, she met her loving husband, Vincenzo. They were married in Italy on April 11, 1948. Vincenzo went to Venezuela to work and was subsequently joined by Gina. They immigrated to The USA in 1955, settling in Brooklyn, NY.
Gina was the beloved mother of Carl, Joseph, Vincent and Elia Maria, the proud grandmother of Vincent, Rocky, Joseph, Michael, Kristen, CJ and Ashley, and the great Grandmother of Nella, Bella, Jojo, Rocco, Dominic, Joey and Ella.
Predeceased by her devoted husband Vincenzo, sisters Antonetta, Nunziella, Anna Maria and Liboria; brothers Rocco and Francesco. Her Parents, Giuseppe Castano and Cornelia Rosetti.
Gina lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker and seamstress for many years. She believed the way to happiness was simply, love your family, be a good person and work hard.
She loved to cook, sew, and enjoyed socializing with her friends at the Golden Age club.
Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her sons, daughter, grand and great grandchildren strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
