Luis F. Calleros, a distinguished and revered member of the El Paso community, has passed away at the age of 96. Born on October 1, 1926, in his beloved hometown of El Paso, Texas, Luis lived a remarkable and fulfilling life that touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Luis will always be remembered as the visionary owner of Calleros Dairy in El Paso. With unwavering dedication and an unyielding commitment to excellence, he built a thriving business that became an integral part of the local dairy industry. Through his hard work and tenacity, Luis created a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Beyond his professional achievements, Luis had a deep sense of duty towards his country. He proudly served as an Army Veteran during World War II, bravely defending the principles he held dear. His military service reflected his unwavering loyalty and courage, qualities that were evident throughout his entire life.
Luis's warm heart and generous spirit extended beyond his career and military service. He cherished his family above all else, finding true joy in the love and companionship they shared. Ascencion Calleros, his mother, played an influential role in shaping his character, instilling in him values of integrity and compassion. Additionally, Lucia Calleros was the love of his life and provided constant support throughout their journey together.
Luis's memory will forever be cherished by those who survive him. He leaves behind Luis Calleros Jr., a devoted son who will carry on his father's legacy with pride; Dr. Margie Huerta, a loving daughter who will always treasure their precious moments together; and Lucy Calleros , a daughter whose admiration for her father knows no bounds; and loving sons Javier, George and Michael Calleros . He leaves a legacy with grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
In honor of Luis's remarkable life and indelible mark on our hearts, services have been scheduled to celebrate his legacy. Visitation will take place at Sunset Funeral Homes - Northeast, located at 4631 Hondo Pass in El Paso, Texas, on July 13, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A prayer service will follow from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on the same day.
On July 14, 2023, a Chapel Service will be held at Sunset Funeral Homes - Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive, starting at 9:30 AM and concluding at 10:30 AM. immediately following Mr. Calleros will be laid to rest with military honors at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
The burial ceremony will commence at 11:00 AM and will take place at the cemetery located on 5200 Fred Wilson Avenue in El Paso, Texas. A Memorial Repass (lunch) for family and friends will be held at 12:15pm at the Marriott, 1600 Airways, in El Paso Texas.
Luis F. Calleros touched the lives of many with his warm smile, compassionate heart, and unwavering work ethic. His legacy as an astute businessman, devoted family man, and valiant soldier will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. While we mourn his loss deeply, may we also find solace in the knowledge that his legacy will continue to shine brightly in our hearts for generations to come.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
