Luis Briones Mendoza, born November 29, 1939 in Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to parents Jose Mendoza and Maria Briones, entered into eternal rest August 9, 2025 at the age of 85. Luis was preceded in death by his father, Jose Mendoza; mother, Maria Briones Mendoza; wife, Maria Del ReFugio Mendoza; brothers, Federico Mendoza, Inez Mendoza; and sisters, San Juana Mendoza and Rosa Mendoza. He is survived by his daughters San Juana Mendoza, Josefina Mendoza; sons, Martin Mendoza, Jesus Mendoza, Pablo Mendoza, Jose Luis Mendoza, Victor Mendoza; grandchildren, Janice, Ale, Jose, Abcd, Martin, Jorge, Ana, Jorge, Lupita, Juan Grecia, Jasmin, Michelangelo, Virgil, Abcde, and Johana; and 22 great-grandchildren. Luis was married for 52 years. He worked as a Custodian for Northeast Independent School District for 20 years. Luis was a big fan of Los Tecolotes baseball team of Nuevo Laredo. He enjoyed listening to Los Cadetes de Linares music band. Funeral services are as follows: Thursday - August 14, 2025: Visitation from 4-8pm at Texas Funeral Home Chapel, 2702 Castroville Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237 with a prayer service at 6:30pm recited by Deacon Albert Ramirez from Our Lady of Angels Church. Friday - August 15, 2025: Visitation from 8-9am at Texas Funeral Home Chapel. We will be departing at 9:15am to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 315 E. Pecan Street, San Antonio, Texas 78205 for a 10:00am funeral Mass service. Graveside services will be at San Fernando Cemetery II following the 10:00am Mass. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL LED BY POLICE ESCORTS IN VEHICLE PROCESSION.
