Luis Ramos Rodriguez, born on June 12, 1935, in Nixon Texas, passed away on October 8, 2025 in El Campo Texas, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, family love, and community service. A dedicated worker in the cotton industry, Luis drove module trucks for several cotton gins in Crosbyton and Post, Texas. His contributions extended beyond the wheels of his truck; he played an instrumental role in building several cotton gins across various states, reflecting his commitment to both his profession and his community.
Luis had a profound appreciation for family, cherishing every moment spent with them. He treasured family gatherings, which filled his heart with joy as he welcomed "their babies" into his home. His enduring love for his late wife, Lydia Moreno Rodriguez, was a defining aspect of his life. After her departure to be with the Lord, Luis carried a deep sense of loss, yet he remained devoted to his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson.
Together with Lydia, Luis found pride in being active members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where they participated in numerous groups, sharing their faith and values with their community. Their enduring bond was evident in their shared journey until circumstances led him to El Campo, Texas, to be with his daughter and son-in-law.
Luis is survived by his loving family, including his children Brenda Rivas (Ramiro), Luis Rodriguez Jr., and Susie Davila (Jerry), grandchildren Ruben, Scott, Rachel, Anthony, Estrella, and Nicolas, and great-grandchildren Alex, Makyla, Jay, Raegan, Hunter, River, great-great-grandson Santiago, and sister Maria Ramirez as well as many nieces, and nephews. He joins in eternal rest with his beloved wife, Lydia, as well as their daughter Raquelita, brother Lupe, sisters Juanita Ramirez, Dora Riojas, Rosa Moreno, and his parents, Manuel and Anastacia Rodriguez.
The services to honor Luis will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Seguin, Texas. Visitation will begin on October 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM, followed by a Rosary at 9:30 AM. The funeral mass will follow at 10:00 AM, and his interment will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
Pallbearers: grandsons Anthony Rodriguez, Nicolas Davila, Ruben Storie, Scott Storie; great-grandsons Alex Quintero, Jay Quintero, Hunter Storie, River Storie.
