Maria Consuelo Requena-Peña, born on December 27, 1946, in Mexico, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving woman whose faith and dedication to her family were evident throughout her life.
For over 40 years, Consuelo was a devout Jehovah’s Witness, passionately teaching Bible Principles and sharing her faith with others. Her commitment to her beliefs was matched only by the love she had for her family and friends. Consuelo was respected and loved not only by her entire family, but by her many good friends. She has left behind a legacy of cherished stories and beautiful memories that will resonate through the lives of those she touched.
Consuelo was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eliseo Pena Sr., as well as her parents, Santiago Requena Ruiz and Dora Rodriguez Requena; her siblings, Estella Requena Barrios, Diamantina Requena Martinez, Ramiro, Jesus, Santiago, Jose Luis, Humberto, and Gilberto Requena.
Consuelo is survived by her children, Eliseo Pena, Marco Pena and his wife Elida, Luz Maria Rodriguez and her husband Ruben, and David Pena. She also leaves behind her sister, Maria Guadalupe Requena Alvarez, and her adoring grandchildren; Jennifer Cadena, Marco Pena Jr. and Roxanna, Stephanie Pena, Andrew Paredes, Ruben Rodriguez Jr., Ruby Rodriguez, Joshua Pena, and Abby Pena; great grandchildren, Juliet, Jake II, and Juliana Cadena, Jasmine and Hailey Pena, as well as Sophia, Raelynn, and Michael Castanuela. Consuelo is further survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
Maria Consuelo has left us all with countless happy, beautiful, cherished stories and memories. May our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother forever rest in peace, having completed her journey as a daughter of Jehovah God.
Visitation will be held at Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin, Texas, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Goetz Funeral Home at 8:30 a.m. and the funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.
