Cremation Society of New Hampshire - BoscawenLuisa Dayrit Paule Turgeon, born in Lubao, Pampanga, Philippines, on April 2, 1949, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Saturday, August 30th, 2025. The middle child of nine siblings, Luisa was a hard worker and fiercely independent. She established a successful corporate seamstress business in Manila while also managing various small businesses to provide for herself and her beloved family.
Luisa's life took a beautiful turn when she met her late husband, Ronald Turgeon, in the late 1970s after his numerous tours in the Vietnam War. A self-proclaimed spinster, she found love and happiness with Ron. After many years of courtship, involving flights between the USA and the Philippines, Luisa and Ron adopted their daughter Corina, married, and settled in Concord, New Hampshire, in 1989.
Arriving in the United States, Luisa and her daughter faced the challenges of navigating a new culture and language. Undeterred, Luisa's take-charge attitude drove her to learn English alongside Corina and find new ways to support her family. She worked tirelessly for various companies, including Marriott, The Visiting Nurse Association, and Pleasant View Nursing Home, before finally landing her dream job at Concord Hospital, where she dedicated herself until her retirement in 2008.
After retirement, Luisa moved to the Meredith area to be closer to her daughter. Embracing her cherished role as "Lala," she built a fulfilling life in the Lakes Region alongside her daughter Corina, son-in-law Jim, and granddaughters Mila and Addison, who were her entire world.
Luisa is remembered for her strength, loyalty, resilience, and unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work and devotion that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
A celebration of Luisa's life will be held on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, at Holy Trinity Parish, 11 School Street, Plymouth, NH, at 10:00 AM. The family invites all who knew her to join them in honoring her memory, followed by a lunch in her honor at the family home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Quality Care Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 32, Center Harbor, NH, in her honor.
Luisa will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
