Luke Jones Obituary

Published by Legacy from Oct. 9 to Oct. 11, 2024.
On October 6th, 2024, the world got much dimmer as one of its brightest lights went out far too early. Luke Jones, beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, boyfriend, and friend of too many to name has passed away due to an unfortunate illness.
He was born in Indianapolis, IN in 1998 to Kevin and Debbie Jones, 5 minutes after his brother Jake. He attended St. Jude Elementary School and graduated from Roncalli High School in 2017 before studying theater at Vincennes University.
Luke Jones was a passionate creative and exceedingly talented writer and orator. He especially showcased this the year he won both 1st place in Programmed Oral Interpretation and 2nd place in Original Performance at the Indiana Schools Speech and Debate Association state finals. He was also an amazing cook and lover of music. He will be survived by his mother and father, Kevin and Debbie Jones, as well as his brothers Jake and Ty, his sister-in-law Kaylyn, his nephew Donavan, his girlfriend Annabel, his cats Simba and Ferg, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will be missed more than words can say.
A celebration of life will be held on October 20th at St. Jude Pavilion (5252 McFarland Rd.) from 2pm to 6pm. Eulogy will be held at 4pm. Arrangements entrusted to Singleton & St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory.

Luke, I´m really sorry I didn´t make it to your funeral, I live in Cincinnati now and it was really difficult after losing so many people in the last few years. We haven´t spoken in quite some time, but I did want to say one thing. I will forever be grateful for your friendship. When you entered my life, I quite literally had nobody but you and the boys. Instead of spending those years alone, like I expected, we got to make the kind of memories that people should write books about. Not to mention, you were literally my mom´s favorite! You practically lived with me senior year! I just wish I could hear you practice your speech, burst into song, or call me "sour cream..." just one last time. Thank you for the memories, man. (I have a great video of you rapping but it won´t let me add it here!!)
