Luke J. Mitchell PattersonvilleLuke J. Mitchell, 21, of State Highway Rt. 5-S, Pattersonville, died unexpectedly in a motor vehicle accident on August 2, 2013. He was born in Niskayuna and was the son of John Mitchell of Willsboro and Debra (Robert) Jablonski of Pattersonville. He was engaged to be married to Brenna Groulx of Homer, New York. Luke was a graduate of Willsboro Central School and was currently employed by Cargill of Albany, New York. He was previously employed by Cable Care Construction and the Adirondack Wood Floor Co. Luke was an avid outdoorsman and loved animals, earning his livelihood through logging, bailing hay and landscaping. He was known as the smiling gentle giant in the Town of Florida, always willing to land a helping hand. In addition to his parents, Luke is survived by a sister, Tanya (Jeff) Jaracz; his maternal grandmother, Esther Hutcinson; uncle, John (Lisa) Hutchinson; and cousins, Katelynn (Chad) Myers, Emily (Andrew) Opalka and Krystle Hutchinson; as well as many other cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by grandfather, Hugh Hutchinson; great-uncle John Hutchinson, uncle, Doug Hutchinson; and great-grandparents. Viewing hours will be Tuesday, August 6th from 4 to 7 p.m. at De Stefano Funeral Home, Rt. 5-S. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 7th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Califano officiating. Burial will be private at Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Beukendaal Fire Department, Rotterdam Junction Fire Department or to the Montgomery County SPCA c/o the funeral home.FUNERAL HOME
