Luke M. Oldehoeft, age 31, of Paradise, Texas, formerly of Marshall County, Kansas, passed away on July 16, 2025, in Paradise, Texas.
A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Marysville. Pastor Shannon Borgman will officiate.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Blue Rapids, Kansas.
Luke Michael Oldehoeft was born on June 8, 1994, in Hanover, Kansas, to Michael “Mike” and Gina (Zidek) Oldehoeft. He graduated from Valley Heights High School in 2012 and continued his education at Fort Hays State University.
Following his time in college, Luke began his career with Hall Brothers in Marysville. He later accepted a position in utility system construction with JMI in Vermillion, Kansas. His strong work ethic and dedication soon brought him back to Hall Brothers, and in 2024, his role with the company led to a relocation to Texas.
Luke found great enjoyment in the outdoors, whether it was fishing, kayaking on the river, attending demolition derby races, or simply spending time in nature—though he had a well-known dislike for snakes. He was also an avid supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas State University athletics.
Preceding him in death is his father, Mike; and grandparents, Richard Zidek and Earl Oldehoeft.
Survivors include his mother, Gina (Delmar, Jr.) Seematter, Blue Rapids; brother, Gunnar Zidek, Washington, Kansas; nephew, Laith Zidek; girlfriend, Mariah Uden, Paradise; grandparents, Ruth Oldehoeft of Hanover, Kansas, and Marge (Rick) Zidek Provest, Clyde, Kansas.
A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent to the care of Kinsley Mortuary, P.O. Box 147, Marysville, Kansas 66508.
