Flora (LuRene) Swinburne
HUNTINGTON- Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Flora LuRene Swinburne, age 89, passed away July 18, 2024 at her apartment in the Heirloom Inn.
She was born June 28, 1935 to Henry and Lola Tucker and grew up in Cleveland, Utah. She married Robert D. Swinburne on February 14, 1953. They were an inseparable team for 56 years until Bob died in 2009. Being a widow was not what LuRene could imagine enduring but she more than endured for 15 years with grace, joy, endurance, and an open heart to all.
LuRene had a big influence on many people. She was a lover of people, a mentor, encourager, best friend to many, listener, master-of-hospitality, confidant, teacher, worshipper, and simply "the best." LuRene embodied what Jesus Christ said was most important; first, passionately loving God with your whole heart, soul, mind, and strength and then secondly, compassionately loving others.
Survived by her sister, Kelly (Gary) Lavering; son, Ted (Carolyn); daughter-in-law, Donna; six grandchildren, Mary (Destined), Becky (Caleb), Julie (Josh), Steve (Renee), Tim (Brynne), and Phil (Arahka); and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Bob; son, Doug; daughter, Kim; and sister, DeAnn Collard.
Funeral service, Friday, July 26, 2024, 1:00 p.m., Price Chapel (611 West Price River Drive) in Price. LuRene's lifelong church home where she served enthusiastically and was loved and respected by all. The family will receive friends starting at 12:00 (noon) prior to the service at Price Chapel. Burial will follow in the Cleveland Town Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of LuRene online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
The family suggests donations to Price Chapel.
