Luster J Walker, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, in his hometown of
Columbus, Georgia, at the age of 75. Born on January 10, 1951, to Claude and Frankie Mae Walker, Luster's life was one of dedication, love, and laughter.
Luster's journey began in Columbus, where he grew up surrounded by the warmth of a large and loving family. Luster embarked on a career that would reflect his caring nature and affinity for helping others. He devoted many years to Oak Manner Nursing Home before continuing his compassionate service at Columbus Regional as a Surgical Technician. His dedication to the well-being of others was evident in the gentle care he provided to the many lives he touched.
In 1991, Luster married the love of his life, Dorothy Walker, and together they navigated the journey of life with grace and humor. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Keithon Walker and Latarsho Griffin (Pastor Anthony Griffin), who added joy and purpose to Luster's life. He was a great husband and father, always placing the needs of his family above his own and ensuring that love remained the cornerstone of their home. His legacy is continued through his grandchildren, Keyvion Walker, Quanasia Walker, Aleah Griffin and Cameron Pollard.
Luster's infectious laughter and fun-loving spirit made him a delight to be around. He had a knack for storytelling and could light up a room with his humor. His presence was a source of comfort and happiness for his family and friends, and his legacy of laughter will continue to echo in their hearts.
A man of faith, Luster attended the Church of Columbus consistently, and he found strength and fellowship there. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life, inspiring him to live with kindness and generosity.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be forever held in the hearts of those who knew him. His beloved spouse, Dorothy Walker, remains a testament to their enduring love. Luster's siblings, Laster Walker, Dr. Eula Pines (George), Linda Westbrook, and Brenda Kelley, will miss his wisdom and companionship. He also leaves behind sister in law, Edna Lewis, brother in law Min. Willis Phearson (Debra) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Frankie Mae Walker, his brother, Charlie Williams and his grandson Treyvion Walker.
Luster J Walker's life was a beacon of joy and an example of selfless service. As we say farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the time we were privileged to share with him. His spirit will continue to inspire us, and his memory will always be a blessing.
