Luz was born on August 11, 1966 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Leopoldo Anaya and Urbana Rodriguez Anaya. Her family moved to Spearman in 1979. She attended Spearman High School and was a part of the basketball team. Luz married the love of her life, Isidro Hernandez, on October 16, 1982. They moved to Pampa in 1985, where they made their home and raised their family. She was a longtime member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Luz enjoyed crafting and making all sorts of things for her family. She loved any excuse to go to her store, Hobby Lobby. She also enjoyed going to thrift stores and finding the best bargain. Luz loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a big heart and would do anything to make others happy. Luz would take her mother to get ice cream every Sunday and watch ducks swim in the lake. She battled several health problems but was always strong during the hard times. She was patient with everyone, caring, and most of all, kind. Luz will be remembered for generosity and the love she had for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leopoldo and Urbana Anaya; and one sister, Patricia Anaya.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Isidro Hernandez; three children, Jose Hernandez, Stevan Hernandez, and Henry Hernandez; five grandchildren, Rafael Hernandez, Benito Hernandez, Itzel Hernandez, Gizelle Hernandez, and Juluis Hernandez; four siblings, Blanca Anaya, Jose Luis Anaya, Oscar Anaya and wife Elsa, and Raul Anaya and wife Laura; her adopted son, George Albear; and numerous nieces and nephews.
