Luz Monges Obituary
7, 2026, at the age of 87 in New Port Richey, Florida. Born on July 23, 1938, in
Ensenada, Puerto Rico, Lilly graced the world with her laughter, warmth, creativity,
passion for dancing and unwavering faith.
Lilly's journey was one marked by love, compassion, and dedication. As a retired office
manager for a mental health facility, she touched many lives with her kindness and
professionalism. Beyond her career, Lilly's spirit shone brightly through her beautifully
crafted crochet items. She lovingly volunteered and donated her crocheted items to
different organizations which included; prayer shawls, blankets and hats for the
homeless and newborn babies in hospitals. Her hands wove not only yarn but also
stories of love, care and connection.
An avid reader, Lilly found joy and adventure within the pages of countless books, while
her love for cruising allowed her to explore the world and create cherished memories
with those she loved. Her life was a testament to the beauty of curiosity and exploration,
both of the world and of the human spirit.
A devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church, Lilly's faith was her guiding light,
providing strength and solace throughout her life. Her deep spirituality was evident in
her actions and the love she shared with everyone around her.
Lilly was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Bernardino and Flores Velez
Cuadra; her brothers, Victor Rodriguez and Walter Cuadra; and her sister, Doris Rios.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 68 years, Roberto Monges, whose partnership
was a beautiful example of enduring love. She is also survived by her cherished
daughter, Sandi Lebenns; her adored grandchildren, Joshua, Andrew, and Daniel
Lebenns; and her great-grandchild, Raegan Lebenns.
A Mass celebrating Lilly's life will be held at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church,
8400 Monarch Drive, Port Richey, FL 34668, at a later date. Family and friends will
gather to honor a remarkable woman whose life was a tapestry of love, creativity,
laughter and faith.
Lilly's legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched, a reminder to embrace each
day with grace, joy and laughter, just as she did
