Lyall Kay Buchert

Lyall Kay Buchert, son of Arlene & Everett Buchert, was born 05/11/1940, in Russell, MN. Lyall attended trade school to become a Cement Mason. He was a proud union member of Local 633 for 60 years. Lyall met the love of his life, Marlene, when he was 17. They were married on 09/30/1961, and spent 62 years traveling, wintering in AZ, and spending time with family & friends. Lyall & Marlene lived in Crystal, where they raised their family and made weekly trips to their cabin on Mule Lake. They built their dream lake home on Bowstring, in Deer River, where they lived for 24 years. Lyall was an avid fisherman/hunter, known for his adventurous six-wheeler rides with the grandkids, and enjoyed life on the lake. Lyall passed away peacefully on 05/02/2025, at the age of 84 years while at J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Park, MN. He will be missed by his wife, Marlene, three children; Gail (Joe) LeClair, Gary (Tammy) Buchert, and Gene (Leslie) Buchert; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and brother David (Aloha) Buchert. He is preceded in death by his parents.
