Lyle Joshua Simon Sr.

Lyle Simon, Sr., born on September 9, 1988, in Sisseton, SD, passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 36. Lyle was the beloved son of Eliphelet (Buddy) Simon, Sr. and Tlana Steele, and is survived by his loving son, Lyle Simon, Jr., his brothers, Eliphelet Simon, Jr. & William (Buster) Steele, Sister Reann Waloke. He was preceded in death by his sister, Emily Jo Simon. Lyle was a cherished member of his family, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him. He was also the grandson of Maternal grandparents Paula E. Loud Hawk "Pte Kasota Win" and Gordon Weston, Sr."Wanbli Tokaheya", and his Paternal grandparents Reverend Michael Simon "Akicita Cistinna" and Priscilla Simon "Winyan Toiciye Waste Win."
Lyle grew up with a deep sense of family and a love for the simple joys in life. He was a man who valued hard work and perseverance, traits that he carried with him throughout his life. He was a member of the Mayasan Presbyterian Church, and he also loved his traditional ways which he taught from many family members.
Lyle's career included various roles at Dakota Magic Casino & Hotel, most recently as part of the event staff. His colleagues admired his dedication and commitment, always willing to go the extra mile. Lyle also was in the roofing business in Rapid City SD with his brother Joe Simon, Jr and William Buster Steele, and worked other positions at Walmart and Wester Buffalo meats.
Lyle was a passionate runner and fitness enthusiast; he found peace and strength through his workouts. Whether pushing himself on a long run or lifting weights, he approached life with the same determination and drive that he brought to everything he did. Growing up he and his brother joined a boxing team where he was dedicated and would wake up in the early morning hours to training.
Lyle's greatest joy was his son, Lyle Simon, Jr., to whom he was an unwavering and loving father. Lyle's love for his son was evident in everything he did, and his memory will live on through his son.
Lyle's kind heart, generosity, and love for his family were evident in all aspects of his life. He was always ready to lend a hand or share a smile.
Lyle's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
