Lyn Monroe passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024. She was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and everyone knew her love for Philly! Lyn graduated from Delaware County Christian School and went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse at Montgomery County Community College. During her nursing career of over 35 years she cared for countless patients who were touched by her kindness and cheerful personality.
Lyn and Herb Monroe joyfully celebrated 51 years of marriage on March 16th. Her husband and children knew her love through her countless sacrifices and selfless acts. She was a constant source of support and encouragement to them. Lyn's strength and resolve carried her family through hard times and her positive and fun-loving character made all circumstances feel easier.
Lyn loved spending time with her daughter and son-in-law, Janelle and Joel Semke. Her grandchildren, Ian, Alex and Julia had a Nana that delighted in everything they do. She was a wonderful Nana who made sure they were spoiled with love. Everyone who knew her felt cared for and special. She had a special ability to make people feel welcome and accepted. Lyn was able to create warmth and beauty in everything she did. Her testimony of faith was a light to others. She was passionate about seeing others know God and feel His love.
Lyn is survived by her beloved husband, Herb; son; daughter Janelle; grandchildren, Ian, Alex and Julia Semke; nieces Kipley (Baum)Wingate, Kim (Baum) Miller and Karen (Baum)Carrol.
Lyn was preceded in death by her mother Martha Moser; father, Frank Moser and sister, Rona Lee Baum (Moser).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 11th, 2024 11am-1pm at Zion Covenant Church, 1102 Locust Street Chambersburg, PA 17201.
