Lynette Anderson Obituary

Lynette Anderson

In Loving Memory / 1935 ~ 2026

American Fork, UT-Lynette Anderson (90) passed away Thursday, February 26th, 2026. Lynette fought to recover after breaking both of her ankles, but complications from Sjogren's syndrome proved to be too much, and she passed away 20 days after her fall. We are grateful for the wonderful care provided by the Covington at Lehi and iCare Home Health and Hospice.

Pearl Lynette Anderson was born September 23, 1935, in Park City, Utah to Rhoda Workman and Lafayette Anderson. Lynette was the third of seven children. She married and had one son, David Little, who was born in 1959. She later remarried and became the stepmother to five wonderful children.

Hard work and education were a priority for Lynette throughout her life. Lynette graduated from Hastings High School in 1953. She worked her way through college, graduating from BYU in 1963 and earning her master's degree in only two years from Eastern Montana College in 1978. Lynette had a distinguished 39-year career as an educator and administrator. She was an assistant principal and then became the first female secondary education principal in Montana. She was an educator in Montana for 29 years and was selected as one of only three women to represent the United States at an educational exchange program in Great Britain. After moving to Utah, Lynette was the principal of Spanish Fork High School. The last 10 years of her career were her favorite as she taught future teachers as an associate professor at BYU.

Lynette was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She tried to emulate Jesus Christ by serving and loving others and treating everyone she met with kindness. Lynette had very tender feelings for her pioneer ancestors and loved teaching lessons in her local Daughters of Utah Pioneers unit.

Funeral services for Lynette will be held Monday, March 9th at 11:00am at 1320 West 350 North St. Pleasant Grove, UT 84062. Lynette will be laid to rest in her family plot in the Park City Cemetery.
