Lynette Marchant Asay, a loving, compassionate, and courageous woman, passed away on December 29, 2025, at her residence in Vernon, Utah. Born on January 15, 1954, in
Salt Lake City, Utah, Lynette was an inspiring figure who devoted her life to serving others and spreading cheer. She was not just a beautiful person but a beacon of light that brightened the lives of everyone she met. A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lynette's faith was her guiding light. In the words of the scripture, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16) Lynette lived this verse, sharing her light and love with everyone she encountered.
Lynette was a woman of many talents and passions. She was an enthusiastic gardener who created a magical park for children (and many adults) on her property, a place where joy and laughter filled the air. She was an adventurer at heart who found peace in riding her horses, four-wheelers, and exploring the beauty of the mountains. She cherished the simple pleasures of life, such as watching sunsets from her home, enjoying musicals and movies, and talking to her sissy on the phone. Her commitment to her community was evident through her work as a CNA, her service during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City as a Security Volunteer, and her devoted care of the church and its grounds in Vernon for many years.
Her family and friends were what mattered most to Lynette. She is survived by her beloved husband, Lee Asay; son, Shane Rossman; granddaughter, Trista (Tucker) Heywood; great-granddaughter Ryndinn; great-grandsons Rykus and Memphis; sister, Kathie Franklin; stepsons Todd (Cyd) Asay and Scott (Sheri) Asay, their combined 5 children and 5 grandchildren; as well as cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lynette was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Elizabeth Marchant; her siblings, Dixie Steffensen; Brent (Judi) Marchant; Marian (Bill) King; brother-in-law Richard Franklin; and her grandson, Gage Rossman.
A funeral service to honor Lynette's remarkable life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Vernon LDS Chapel, 280 Main Street, Vernon, Utah, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing prior from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment to follow in the Vernon Cemetery.
