Lynette R. Felker, 68, of Oskaloosa, Iowa and formerly of Urbana, Iowa passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Mahaska Health in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Lynette R. Felker, daughter of Jon and Janet (McGowan) Felker was born August 12, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Lynette grew up and attended school in the Urbana area. Lynette was blessed with the birth of two children, Veria and Josh. Later in life, Lynette moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa, to be closer to her niece, Julie. Lynette had a kind heart and tried her best to help out friends and family. She truly enjoyed babysitting for friends when they were in a pinch, and cooking for those in need; she even would cook huge amounts of potato soup for all her friends at Southern Hills.
Lynette enjoyed motorcycle rides, peaceful days fishing, cooking and listening to music, especially Pat Benatar, and she never turned down a nice cold Pepsi.
Her family includes her daughter, Veria Pettit of Arizona; a son, Josh (Kelly) Schwartz; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a special niece, Julie (Ryan Hull) Corbett; her sisters: Luann Vredenburg of Vinton, IA; Kris (Eric) Lange of Indianola, IA; Karen Meyocks of Osceola, IA; and Raylene Meyocks of Texas; a half-sister, Diane Whited of Nebraska; a special friend Chasity (Earl Knox) Trotter; Chasity's children; and many nieces and nephews.
Lynette was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Bradley; a nephew, Cory Vansant; and her step-siblings, Michael and Patty.
As was her wish, her body has been cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be sent to Julie Corbett at 1353 Yale Ave, Barnes City, IA 50027.
