Lynn G. Dingman "Duke", 85, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Brookdale of Battle Creek. He was born on August 25, 1939, the son of Earl L. and Letha R. (Johnson) Dingman.
Lynn graduated with the Class of 1957 from Marshall High School. Following high school, he joined the United States Navy in 1958 and served a four year term. He further pursued his education at Western Michigan University completing his bachelors degree, and then Wayne State University for his Masters. Lynn met Ellen True while studying at Western and the two married and spent the remaining 54 years together until her passing in 2019. During their marriage, Lynn and Ellen had one son together, Ronald L. Dingman, who preceded them in death in 2015. Lynn worked for the United States Army as a Logistics Management Specialist for 30+ years until his retirement.
Lynn loved to read, enjoyed giving and visiting to the library, gardening, photography, listening to country music, attending family reunions, was an avid animal lover and telling jokes.
Lynn is survived by his sister, Sue (John) Dadow; sister, Becky Dingman; brother, Dennis (Susan) Dingman; brother-in-law, Rick Judd; daughter-in-law, Tracie Hawke-Dingman; grandson, Jaris Dingman; step-grandsons, Justin Hawke, Joshua Hawke; and great granddaughter, Ava Dingman. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son; sister, Connie Judd and brother-in-law, Ron Carlson.
To honor Lynn's request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
Interment will take place at Union Cemetery in Berrien Center, MI.
