Lynn Scott Fogle

Age 82, passed away on August 20th, 2025, at the Dayton VA Medical Center. Born on July 6, 1943, in Troy, Ohio, Lynn emerged into the world as the cherished son of Horace Melvin Fogle and Gladys Irean (Minnich) Fogle. A graduate of Milton-Union High School's class of 1961, he went on to earn an associate's degree in accounting from Miami Jacobs College.

Lynn proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force before embarking on a career as a skilled flooring installer. His commitment to his community shone through his service as a former member of the American Legion Post 487 in West Milton, where he connected with fellow veterans and served his community.

At the Salem Church of the Brethren, on July 9, 1967, Lynn vowed to share his life with his beloved wife of 58 years, Helen (Kauffman) Fogle. Together, they nurtured a loving family, including sons Scott (Stephanie) Fogle of West Milton and Thad (Cheryl) Fogle of Cincinnati. Lynn's joy multiplied with the birth of his grandchildren: Taylor Rose Fogle, Chloe Renee & Ben Voisard, Cierra Jade Fogle, Colin Scott Fogle, and it only grew with the arrival of his great-granddaughters, Beckett and MacKenzie.

United by faith, Lynn was a lifelong member of the Nashville United Church of Christ, where he deepened his Christian faith surrounded by his church family. His interests outside of work and church were simple yet filled with joy – he took pleasure in mushroom hunting, fishing, and especially enjoyed the times when he could coach Milton Union Rec baseball and soccer, instilling not just skills in sports but lessons in life to his players.

Lynn was a handy, selfless, and loving man who built a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love that touched everyone he met. He leaves behind his devoted wife, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters as treasures of his lifetime of love. Though he was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Ann Zimmerman and Phlena Trissel, Lynn's spirit will continue to be felt by all who were blessed to know him.

As the sun sets on the life of Lynn Scott Fogle, we pause to remember a man who was the embodiment of a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a trustworthy friend. His story is one of love, service, and unwavering commitment to his family.

Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Milton-Union Alumni Association.

Joyce and Ralph Steffano

August 25, 2025

To Helen and Family, we send our condolences for your loss. We have such a joyful memory of Lynn at the Marion´s Northmont class reunion a few years ago when Lynn, Ralph, and Toni all discovered that they all still had the old fashioned flip phones when the rest of the world had moved on to smart phones. We cherish the picture of the three of them showing off their phones. Ralph so enjoyed meeting Lynn that night and sharing memories of Northmont and West Milton.
