Lynn “Nanny” Hackney, age 77, of the Sweet Home Community, passed away Tuesday December 31, 2024, at home surrounded by her son and daughter in law. She was born on July 4th, 1947, in the house she lived in. Lynn is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Maedean Lively Hughbanks, husband; William Hackney Brother; Billy Hughbanks; Brother-in-law Buddy Ross, Father and mother-in-law Albert and Lizzie Hackney; Special Friends Laqueta Goodner and Ginger Seals.
Known to many as “Nanny Lynn” She was a homemaker for most of her life also taking care of her loved ones and a few Special kids in the community. She served on the Montgomery County Fair Board for many years keeping everyone in line. She was an aide at Mount Ida Schools. But her favorite title of all was “Ginny” to a very special girl named Laiklyn who was her pride and joy.
She is survived by her son; John and wife Jalyn Hackney, Grand Daughter Laiklyn Rayne, Sister; Reggie Ross, Sister-in-law Janet Hughbanks, Brother-in-law Tommy and Karen Hackney, Niece; DeAnn and Chris Williams and daughter Whitney, Nephew; James Ross (Patti), Nephew Mark and Stephanie Rutherford and Ace, Alya, and Andy, Special family; Jacob and Morgan Cogburn (Colton and Caycie), Cousins Mary Stipe, Edith Chambers, and Floyd Hughbanks, and a host of other family and friends.
Special Friends who she loved deeply Linda Bissel, Ella Black, Ronda (Farron) Foley, Dian Smith, Lynn Howard, Lois Standridge, Nina Coffman, Helen Robertson, Donna (Allen) Golden, Dorthy (Joe) Swindle, Sue Talley, Chris (Lloyd) Tubbs, Haley Campbell and Chuck and Janice Voan.
Graveside service Friday, January 3, 2025, at 2pm and the McKinney Cemetery in Mount Ida, AR. Officiating the service will be Bro Dakota Barrett. Pallbearers Jacob Cogburn, Chase Davis, Davey Foley, Lloyd Tubbs, BJ Tubbs & Joe Weston. Honorary Pallbearers Wendall and Kim Adams, Rachel Anderson, Southern Caregivers, Hospice Home Care.
