Lynn Lewis Mallonee, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of November 13, 2025, at the age of 88.

Born on May 13, 1937, in Compton, California, Lynn was the son of Lynn Cornelius Mallonee and Gwendolyn Delia (Ness) Mallonee. As a young boy, he spent countless hours riding his bike up and down the Pacific Coast Highway, often finding his way to the Huntington Beach Pier. One of his favorite childhood adventures was jumping off the pier and swimming back to shore. He attended Compton High School, graduating in 1955. There, he met his high school sweetheart, and the love of his life, Anna Marie Hogue.

Lynn and Anna Marie were married on May 5, 1956, in a small church in Compton, surrounded by family.  They spent the next 70 years building a beautiful life. Together they welcomed three children: Luanne, Linda, and Gregory. Their family grew over time with 10 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He loved being a husband, father, and grandfather. Lynn was known for his playfulness and keen sense of humor, keeping everyone on their toes with his play on words. He was never afraid to give a sincere compliment and made friends everywhere he went.

In 1960, Lynn chose to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a decision that anchored him spiritually for the rest of his life. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on November 4, 1961. He served faithfully in many leadership roles over the years, always with humility and a quiet willingness to help wherever he was needed.

Lynn lived a life dedicated to service. He first served as a fireman for the Compton City Fire Department, a job he treasured and often said was the highlight of his career. He later transitioned into law enforcement, becoming a deputy sheriff for Los Angeles County. He worked at the sheriffs department for 22 years until his retirement in 1993.

After retirement, Lynn and Anna Marie moved to Utah. Lynn's heart always belonged to his family. He was the kind of grandfather who attended baptisms, games, performances, and school events whenever possible. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always remember his dedication, silly humor, and the connection he had with each one, making them feel like they were the most important person in the world. Lynn is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Marie; his children, Luanne Robertson (Brent), Linda Shoemake (Rusty), and Gregory Mallonee (Michelle).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Gwendolyn Mallonee; his sister Karen Potts; his brother Ronald Mallonee; and his great grandson Carter Stelter.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The funeral service to honor Lynn's life will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 12:00 pm in the LDS Chapel located at 7336 South 3200 West, West Jordan, Utah 84084. There will be a viewing prior to the services from 11:00-11:45 am.

Interment will be at the West Jordan City Cemetery located at 7925 South 1300 West, West Jordan, Utah 84088
