Maura "Lynn" McGregor graduated into her eternal heavenly home on August 18, 2024, at the age of 71 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Lynn was born on September 25, 1952, in Amarillo, Texas, to Helen and Julius Meaker Jr. She grew up in rural Carson County with her two sisters, Jo Dell and Carey.
Lynn married Wynn McGregor whom she knew since grade school on January 5, 1973 in Panhandle, Texas. Unfortunately, this marriage ended in divorce on April 1, 1977. The divorce, however, was an amicable parting of the ways and they remained friends and in touch thereafter. The separation of their lives during this time led to a rekindling of love and maturity in their relationship which led to their remarriage on January 5, 1979. The second go round prospered and lasted until her passing.
Lynn's childhood dream was to become a missionary, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with those who did not know Him. And although this never came to fruition in a formal sense, she spent her "career years" anchoring a home where she raised up and nurtured her children in Jesus' example of love. Lynn homeschooled her children in their formative years, pointing them to Christ in their studies and instilling a love centered foundation for their lives. She also developed young minds in many other ways, such as an Awana leader at church, and Sunday school teacher. Lynn's greatest joy was following Christ Jesus and showing His love to others. As a grandmother, "Mimi" brought light and joy to her grandchildren who adore her deeply. She sought to make her home a desired and longed for destination for her grandchildren.
Lynn's faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her gentle spirit and deep belief in God's grace were evident in her words and actions. Whether through quiet conversations, heartfelt prayers, or simply leading by example, Lynn touched many lives through Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), Campus Crusade for Christ, personal relationships with international college students (some of whom she taught to drive), crisis pregnancy center counseling or hosting bible studies in her home. Lynn shared God's love with everyone. Many she knew will remember her words "You cannot lead someone to Christ until they first know you love and care for them."
Lynn is survived by her husband, Wynn, of Aubrey; her son Nick, and wife Shelly, of Ponder; her son Aaron, and wife Lindsey, of Northlake; her daughter Ginna Reynolds, and husband Nick, of Argyle; her ten beautiful grandchildren; her sister Carey Mackie, and husband Richard, of Pampa; her niece, nephews, and sister-in-law Melinda Demery. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jo Dell Meaker, and in-laws Bobby and Betty Jo McGregor.
