It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Lynn C. Staples of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lynn passed away from this life on October 23, 2024, at the age of 70. She was born on August 15, 1954, to Alex B. Staples and Jacqueline (Colley) Staples, both of whom have preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Jeraldine Rebecca Summey, brother-in-law Paul Summey, and most recently her wife, Phyllis Zukosky Staples, who died just thirteen days before Lynn on October 10, 2024.
Lynn leaves her devoted family to treasure her memory – foster son Brian Shane Goff, sons Brian Keith Young and his wife DeAnna, and Michael Jason Watkins and his wife Jodi; her brother, Ben Staples; along with grandchildren Kendall Blocks, Kennedy Young, Kingston Young, Jaycee Watkins, and Jax Watkins, and many other loving family and friends.
Though the couple had already been together for over 27 years, Lynn was finally able to marry the love of her life on September 26, 2013, in a beautiful, intimate ceremony in the backyard of their home. She and Phyllis were inseparable, spending nearly all their free time together. They could often be found gambling at the casino, watching OU football, or traveling to a fun new destination. No matter what they were doing, Lynn and Phyllis always had the best time, just as long as they were together.
As we say our goodbyes to Lynn Carol Staples, let us honor her memory by remembering her dedication to the people she loved, her strength of character, and her sweet, gentle nature. She will be deeply missed by so many. May she rest eternally in comfort and peace.
