Lynn Tharaldson

1940 - 2025

Lynn Tharaldson was born Aug. 3, 1940, in Glenwood, MN, to Ole and Alice Tharaldson. The middle child of 11, raised on a farm in Brooten, MN, he graduated from Brooten High School, Concordia Moorhead and Luther Seminary in St. Paul. While working at Capital University in Ohio, he met his wife, Rosie. They married in 1968 and moved to Minnesota.

Heavily involved in the community and business life of Lakeville, having resided there the past 50 years, he was one of founding members of the local Rotary Club, served as president of several local organizations and was considered a mentor to many. A gifted athlete, beautiful vocalist and self-taught engineer of sorts, he was thought to be an extraordinarily kind and generous man.

Lynn lived his life first for God, his family an indistinguishable second. The internal injuries resulting from a tragic car accident proved too great to overcome - he passed away Oct. 11, 2025 at 85.

He is survived by wife Rosie, daughter Lyneia (Bob), son Derek (Katie) and daughter Tiana (Richard) and five grandchildren.

His service will be Saturday, Nov. 8, 11am at Messiah Lutheran Church in Lakeville. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Lakeville White Funeral Home Friday, Nov. 7, 5 to 8pm, and an hour prior to service on Saturday. Condolences at www.whitefuneralhomes.com.
