Lynne M. Gleockner O’Brien, 66, of Waverly, NY, passed away peacefully with family by her side at Mercy House in Endicott NY on November 13, 2025, following a brief illness.
Born August 25, 1959, she was the daughter of David and Janice (Hawthorne) Gleockner. She was precedeased by her parents, her sisters Laurie Gleockner and Nancy Gleockner Beck and a brother, Gary Wood.
Lynne graduated from Sayre High School, class of 1978. She was an award-winning artist who was chosen to participate in Faces of the Fallen, painting three portraits of fallen soldiers from Iraq and Afganistan. She enjoyed nature and had a deep love of animals, especially horses and chickens. She raised White Orpington chickens and enjoyed taking them to poultry shows where they won Grand Champion honors.
She worked for many years at Guthrie Clinic and later with Optum as a medical coder.
Lynne is survived by her brother, Phillip (Paula) Wood, nieces and nephews, Cherise Beck Hug, Erika Beck, David Beck, Phillip Wood, Robin Wood Rosson, Jesse Wood, Amy Wood Albright, Jason Wood, brother-in-law, Jan Beck and special cousins, Lisa (Kevin) Engelbert, Joe Hiley and Ed Hiley, along with many cousins and friends. Lynne is also survived by her ex-husband, John O’Brien.
