Lynne Steimle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory - Manitowoc on Mar. 21, 2024.
Lynne M. (Rathsack) Steimle, a beautiful soul, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 while surrounded by her loving family at her home, the place she loved best.
Lynne was born on June 2, 1938 in Manitowoc to the late Edward and Marie (Kestly) Rathsack. She attended St. Boniface Elementary School where lifelong friendships blossomed. Lynne graduated from her beloved Lincoln High School with the class of 1956. She was crowned homecoming queen her senior year.
Shortly after graduation, Lynne married John Steimle in 1957 and began her life as a homemaker and mom. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2018. She and John raised three children and went on to welcome 11 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren with one on the way. Lynne loved them all deeply and unconditionally. She was their rock and their sounding board. Lynne was everything a grandma should be.
Lynne was an amazing friend. That was evident in the length of her friendships, some eighty plus years in the making. She brought her open heart, radiant smile and unwavering loyalty to each and every one of them. Her ability to laugh at her errors was probably the greatest draw, the fact that it happened so often, her most endearing trait.
Lynne enjoyed reading, movies, lunch dates, crossword puzzles, keeping a beautiful home and shopping online a lot. She also had an uncanny ability to lose her car keys often, throughout her lifetime.
Lynne is survived by her three children, Mike (Beth) Steimle, Julie (Joe) Spurney, and Andrew (Suzanne) Steimle, all of Manitowoc; 11 grandchildren, Jake Steimle, Abby (Andy) Wittman, Megan (Mike) Hand, Max Steimle, Sydnee Steimle (fiancé, Brandon), Eli and Alyssa Steimle, Sam (Mary) Spurney, Nate Spurney (special friend, Mary and her children), Nicholas Spurney, Sophie Steimle and Elsie Steimle; seven great grandchildren with one on the way, Wyatt, Ruby, Everett, Lena, Ellie, Jack, and Lennon; niece, Sara Schneider; three nephews, Eric, Chris and Tony Rathsack; along with many very loved cousins, and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents, Edward and Marie Rathsack; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frederick and Marguerite Steimle; and brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Judith Rathsack.
A memorial service will be held at Noon on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. There will be no visitation prior to the memorial service. A Life Celebration Social will then be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with entombment of Lynne's cremated remains to be laid to rest next to her husband, John at Calvary Mausoleum. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Lynne's name that will be used to benefit local organizations, including the Manitowoc County S.W.A.T. Team and Grow-It-Forward.
The family would like to thank Mary Neuser for the special care she extended to Lynne during her final days.
