Lynnette K. Brink

Lynnette K Brink, 78, born June 25, 1947, in Eau Claire Wisconsin, was received into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

She graduated from Muskegon (MI) High School, from Muskegon Community College with an Associate in Arts Degree (Social Studies), from the University of Michigan with an AB Teacher's Certificate (English and History), and from Eastern Michigan University with an MA (Speech and Language Pathology). She was issued a Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech and Hearing Association and was a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist in West Virginia, Texas, Missouri, and Indiana. She taught for a year as a substitute English teacher in Tombstone, AZ, served as a practicing Speech-Language pathologist for 27 years in many West Virginia, Texas, and Missouri schools, and served for a year in private practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Lynnette was a great conversationalist. She could converse hour after hour, topic after topic, with friends or absolute strangers. She was an artist and was great interacting with children. Though Lynnette had no children of her own, she touched the lives of many children, including opening her home and heart to others, including niece Christie, nephew Mike, niece Deedra, great nephew Jacob, nephew Pete, and nephew Tim.

Lynnette was a competitive athlete. She was a tennis champion on the high school varsity team. With husband Dennis, she won the West Virginia amateur class state marathon canoe race, and with a different partner came in first place overall ahead of her second-place husband in another 20-mile canoe marathon. She also participated with her husband in many whitewater canoeing activities.

As a child and teen, Lynnette was member of her Methodist and Congregationalist church choirs. In 2008 Lynnette was baptized and became member of St. Michael Lutheran Church. With husband Dennis she served as a volunteer Bible based pre-marital counselor for Cross Connections. She got Dennis started in leading pro-life activities by "dragging him screaming and kicking" to a Fort Wayne march for life. She participated in multiple national marches for life and local right-to-life activities. He thinks that his "loving lion" may now be trying to shake up things in her new heavenly home, while still looking down on us awaiting a Fort Wayne "march for Jesus" that she advocated for years.

Lynnette's husband and many others have been blessed by the 38 extra years' grace the LORD gave her to remain with us in this world until now. She was blessed spiritually and by world-class medical professionals many times: in 1987 to first treat the cancer that almost ended her life then; in the late 1990's to rescue and heal her from a severe car accident; in 2005 to rescue and heal her from a severe stroke; from 2012 until her death when the cancer returned stage 4; and for decades of asthma that became increasingly severe her last couple of years.

Lynnette is survived by her husband of 56 years Dennis, her brother Gale Kingsley (Lisa), Gale's son Sam Kingsley (Lindsay), Sam's children, cousins Bob Boetzer (Chris), Roger Herrem (Gwen), Steve Herrem (Jean), Jackie Hasse, Jim Beardsley, Gary Beardsley, Sandy Trzcianko (Dale), Mary Emmert, Geoff Curran (JaNean) and their children.

She is also survived by Dennis' sisters and brothers Ann Ferguson, Lee Brink, Linda Fisher (George), and Dennis' many nieces and nephews, including Deedra Fox (Scott), Tammy Coville (Chris), Glenn Ferguson, Peter Warner, Tim Warner, Christie Sidwell (Dave), Bill Brink (Nichole), Rick Brink, Todd Brink (Nikki), Bradley Fisher, Josh Fisher (Amy), Matt Fisher (Erica), Dan Fisher (Alysha), and the children of these nieces and nephews.

Lynnette was preceded in death by her father Lynn Kingsley, her mother Maybeth (Michelson) Kingsley, and her eight aunts Madelyn Boetzer, June Severson, Jane Samuelson, Lila Herrem, Frances Ponto, Irma Curran, Betty Beardsley, and Rayola Danklefsen. She was also preceded in death by her cousins Bob Beardsley, David Ponto, Trichia Ties, Wayne Danklefsen, and Sherry Raymond, along with Dennis' sister Mary Warner, brother Larry Brink, sister-in-law Suzie Brink, and nephew Mike Schmidt.

There will be a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 7, 2026, at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2131 Getz Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804 with visitation one hour prior, beginning at 12:00 pm. There will also be visitation from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Friday, February 6, 2026, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home. 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804. Internment is planned for spring.

In addition, there will be a special memorial service at 11:00 am on Friday, February 6, 2026, with visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at the Towne House retirement center, 2209 St Joe Center Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46825 for those who cannot attend the other services.
