Mabel Ruth Dodd, made her journey to heaven on Saturday, October 4th, 2025. Born on January 19, 1938, in Maysfield, Texas, Mabel's life was a testament to devotion and dedication.
Mabel graduated from Cameron Yoe High School and went on to marry her husband of 66 years, Clarence Dodd. Clarence and Mabel raised their three children in the Austin area and returned to Cameron after retirement where they lived until Clarence’s passing in 2022.
She loved her husband and family more than anything. She shared many adventures with Clarence throughout the years – hooking up the pop-up to go camping, trips to the Coast and Louisiana, and of course the many garage sales you would find them at most weekends. It didn’t matter where she was, she was happy as long as her family was there with her.
Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Dodd, her parents, Isaac Murfee Tyson and Isabelle Simmons Tyson, along with her brothers, George Hall Tyson and Charlie Frank Tyson, and her daughter, Nancy Dodd Baugh.
Mabel's legacy lives on through her loving family, which includes her two sons, Vernon Dodd and his wife Paula of Maysfield, and Clarence Edward Dodd of Dripping Springs. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom will remember her sense of humor and unwavering love.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Green - Patterson Funeral Home, located at 2701 N Travis Ave, Cameron, TX 76520.
