Mabel Waldrop Frazer, 88, formerly of Midland, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Mabel was born May 2, 1936, in Lenoir, North Carolina, to the late John Henry Waldrop and the late Arvilla Ruby Cook Waldrop. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Frazer, III; son, Brian Jeffrey Foreman; and sisters, Marie Childers, Maxine Cunnup, and Mozelle Robinson.

Mabel was a loving daughter, sibling, wife, mother and grandmother. To support her young family after a divorce, she worked as a waitress and then as a collateral officer at NationsBank / Bank of America. After retiring, she renewed her interest in her hobbies, including being Queen of the Diamond and Pearls Diva group of the Red Hat Society and a member of Black Hats, travelling, reading, and embroidery. Amongst her friends and family, she was known for her Peach Brandy Pound Cake and Macaroni and Cheese dishes. As such, she was also an avid collector of cookbooks who was always looking for the next recipe. She raised her own four children and went on to help raise her grandchildren. Mabel loved babies, whether they were her grandchildren or great-grandchildren, and she also collected and admired baby dolls. Her late husband, Frank, called her “Baby Bear“ and her grandchildren knew her as "Grandmommie." Mabel’s life was rich with love and full of memories.

Survivors include daughter, Vanessa (Geoffrey Williamson) Foreman; son, Michael Anthony (Sandra ) Foreman I; daughter, Marilyn (Rainer Stebich) Foreman; 5 grandchildren, Renee (Travis) Godinez, Christie Hepburn, Aimee Crot, Michael Foreman II, and Caroline Williamson; 4 great-grandchildren, Matt Godinez, Mackenzie Hepburn, Daisy Hepburn, and Alex Godinez; sisters, Monteen Ashley and Margaret Dillinger; brothers, Joseph, JD, JR, Jack, Jerry, and Jan Waldrop; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Christina Trimble will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Immediately following the service, Mabel will be laid to rest with her husband at Charlotte Memorial Gardens.
